Dolce: 10m-euro revenues in 2007

Dolce, the satellite digital TV service launched by Romtelecom in November 2006, last year generated revenues worth 10.4m euros, which account for 1.2% of Romtelecom's overall revenues, according to the data from the report published by Greek group OTE, the company's majority stakeholder. The company ended 2007 with almost 400,000 customers for satellite television, after around 10,000 were contracted in the previous year. Romtelecom ranks second on this market after RCS&RDS, which has over one million customers. Fixed telephony is still the operator's main source of revenue and Romtelecom derives 542.3m euros (62.2%) from this segment. Last year, the company held its customer base at around 3 million users on the fixed telephony segment. In Q1, 2008, Romtelecom posted operating losses worth 14.2m euros, against income worth 26.6m euros in Q1, 2007.
