29.04.2008, 20:08 13

Cluj-based Ecolor, which manufactures furniture exclusively for Swedish group Ikea, posted an over 4.3 million-euro turnover in the first three months of the year, up 30% against the same time last year. "The main factors behind the turnover increase were, on the one hand, the increase in productivity, and, on the other hand, the development of the human resources department," Marcel Puscasu, general manager of Ecolor, told ZF Transilvania. According to him, the number of employees has gone up from 150 to 180 people at present. Ecolor representatives forecast a 22 million-euro target for this year, up by around 39% against last year. The company closed 2007 with a 15.85 million-euro turnover, almost double compared with 2006, when it amounted to 8 million euros. The Ecolor plant in Jucu commune started to work at the capacity it was designed for last year, so, according to the company management, comparing last year's financial indicators with those for 2006 is inconclusive.
