Romania's Export Import Bank (Eximbank) posted H1 net profit worth 116 billion ROL (2.8 million euros), calculated in accordance with the International Accounting Standards (IAS). The net results registered in the first half are close to last year's profits, which amounted to 121.6 billion ROL. According to bank officials, the Eximbank managed to push profit up, although it has maintained its interest rates at the lowest levels on the market. Eximbank has a special status among the Romanian-based banks, as it is assigned to support Romania's foreign trade through specific financial-banking and insurance instruments, both in its own name and on behalf of the Romanian State.
