The presence of expensive products in the ranking ofbest-selling electronics and home appliances is a first indicationthat the market could stagnate, at least in terms of value, compared with 2009. In addition, the saying "I am too poor to buycheap" seems to justify such rankings.

If we look at the best-selling electronics and home appliancesin online stores, we are in for a surprise. Among eMAG's tenbest-selling mobile phones, for instance, there are four modelspriced above 250 euros, which include an iPhone 4 with a 16-GBcapacity in fourth place and the same model, with a 32-GB capacity,in seventh place, priced at 850 euros and 900 euros respectively.Quite a hefty price tag, considering that a mobile phone costs afew tens of euros on average, thanks to subsidies granted by mobilephone operators in GSM stores. The same ranking in online storePCFun.ro also features four phones priced above 250 euros, with anHTC model at no. three costing 500 euros. On the website of retailchain Domo a Nokia N97 is among the top five sellers, priced at 600euros, writes BUSINESS Magazin weekly (www.businessmagazin.ro).
