Cluj-Napoca-based Grandemar, whose main client is American group Bechtel, builder of the Transilvania motorway, expects to end this year with overall sales worth 22 million euros, up over 37% against last year. Grandemar management has announced an around 5.5 million-euro investment plan for retooling its stone quarries. According to representatives for the Cluj company, around 3.5 million euros have been spent so far to modernise and expand the quarries in Poieni and Bologa, with 2 million euros to be allocated next year for the quarries in Moigrad and Morlaca. "We intend to completely change the technological flow sheet and rebuild the access way to this quarry. Next year, all Grandemar quarries will benefit from retooling programmes," Carmen Ionescu, general manager of Grandemar told ZF Transilvania.
