Hanul lui Manuc to open garden and oriental restaurant this summer

Hanul lui Manuc (Manuc's Inn), one of the most famous XIXthcentury Bucharest landmarks, is starting to come back to lifefollowing an around two million-euro investment inreconditioning.
The inn's heir, Şerban Cantacuzino, plans to open the inner beergarden and an oriental restaurant by the middle of the year, andlater to open a boutique hotel and the inn's famous wine cellar(restaurant). In order for these investments to take shape, twocoffee shops and a bistro connected to the Manuc name have alreadybeen opened on the ground floor of the inn, which overlook SplaiulUnirii Blvd. Apart from them, no outside sign suggests that the innmight be open for business, a situation that has been going on foryears. If you go in, however, the setting is being created forclients to enjoy a pig on a spit and a cold pint of beeragain.
'For four years we had to clean, do measurements, make projects,get permits. (...)," Şerban Cantacuzino, who received the inn backin the beginning of 2007 by a final and binding decision of theHigh Court of Cassation and Justice. The building had beennationalised in 1950 by the communist regime.
