Orastie-based herbal tea producer Fares, posted turnover worth over 1.7 million euros for the first half of 2006, against 2.9 million euros for the whole of 2005. "The advantage of medicinal herbs with strictly therapeutic properties (medicinal tea, syrups, oils, ointments, tinctures) is that they don't have a limited target audience in terms of age or income. Many teas have medicinal purposes making their appeal widespread, as our products cover a whole range of requirements. Bearing in mind that we are a Romanian company, in order to maintain and consolidate our position on the market we have returned to the tradition of cultivating medicinal herbs and introduced products tailored specifically for the Romanian market - aromatic tea only from aromatic plants, special products for mothers and small children, tea to fight disorders in the incipient stages, as well as syrups with no artificial additives, ointments, essential oils or tinctures,"Adelina Hanciu, brand manager at Fares told ZF Transilvania.
