The business people have their reservations about the detailsprovided by Premier Emil Boc in the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesdaynight, concerning the anti-crisis measures taken and those thatshould be adopted. What else could have the Government done and didnot do?
In an almost one-hour speech that was expected to announce a newanti-crisis plan, the Premier presented a happy image of Romania, where, because of the steps taken by the Government last year andin the first few months of this year, the unemployment rate was 2%below the EU average, the rating agencies were improving Romania'sratings, the RON/EUR exchange rate was stable and the economicrebound was shaping up on the horizon.
If the Government took steps, can they be seen somewhere? If theRON/EUR exchange rate is stable, this is not the Government'sdoing, replies analyst Laurian Lungu. If the Premier is happy withthe economy, the economy is not happy with him, other businesspeople replied.
The Premier said one of the main steps to have helped theeconomy was the non-taxation of the reinvested profit.
