The industrial output in the first ten months of this year went up 3.3% from the year-ago period, both in absolute volume and in comparable conditions in terms of number of working days, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The industrial output in October progressed by 2.9% in volume and in comparable conditions in terms of number of working hours from the corresponding month in 2002, which is lower than the first ten months' average.
In comparison with the previous month, the industrial output in October went up 5.4% in volume and 1.1% in comparable working conditions. The finished product stocks in the industry were worth 51,310 billion ROL in current prices, which accounted for 35% of October's resources, down from the 37.8% in the previous month.
Moreover, the processing industry's output was 4% higher ten months through the year compared with the year-ago interval, while the energy industry posted a more modest result, as it increased only 2.1%.
The electrical power output registered in the first nine months of this year totaled 46.3 billion kWh, 4.5% up from the same time last year. The power generated by the regular thermoelectric power plants (running on coal) accounted for 66.4% of the total, 15% more than in 2002.
The National Statistics Institute (INS) on Tuesday presented the constructions industry data for the first nine months of this year, as well. Therefore, construction works performed by the end of September exceeded 109,000 billion ROL (2.8 billion euros), 5.8% up from the similar period last year. The construction works carried out in the private sector accounted for 89.9% of the total. Judging by the type of construction works in the first nine months, the new construction works were worth 61,623 billion ROL, i.e. 6.4% of the total value.
