The Interagro group, controlled by businessman Ioan Niculae, whoowns several businesses in agriculture and the chemical industry,could end this year with one billion euros in turnover, up 39%against last year. Over 75% of this year's turnover is generated byfertiliser production, with the rest being accounted for byagriculture.
"The best year was 2008, when we reached 1.2 billion euros inoverall turnover. Last year we saw a decline to 720 million euros,but this year we will see an increase. Towards the second half ofthe year we saw a rebound, both of the chemical industry and ofagriculture, where, for higher production we obtained higher pricesagainst last year," Ioan Niculae said.
The Romanian entrepreneur yesterday inaugurated a biscuit andwafers plant in Zimnicea (Teleorman county), following a 5million-euro investment, saying that "all production and processingbusinesses bring a profit at some point or another."
