Marshal Turism up 5%

29.09.2003, 00:00 11

Marshal Turism travel agency sees about 5% higher turnover for this year, with revenues estimated at some 500bn ROL (13 million euros). "The tourism business generates about 35% of our revenues, while ticketing covers the rest. We've noticed a slight decline in airline ticket sales, but sales derived from outgoing tourism have doubled," Daniel Antonescu, Marshal Turism chairman said. The agency last year made about 4 million euros from its tourism business. Sales of travel packages abroad will account for 15% of the company's turnover in 2003. The favourite international destinations of the clients are pretty much the same as last year, with Turkey, Spain and Egypt topping the charts. Marshal Turism intends to go into the hotel business, as well and will build a five-star hotel in Piata Victoriei area, under a 40 million-euro investment. ZF
