MOL sales up 24%

14.08.2008, 20:13 10

MOL Romania, the local branch of the Hungarian group MOL, posted a 24% increase in turnover in RON, to around 1,052.9 million RON (286.9 million euros), compared with the same time last year, when it reported turnover worth 849.15 million RON (255 million euros). "Considering the increase in the demand for fuel in the region, we were able to boost sales in Hungary, Slovakia and Austria, the most important and the closest markets we operate on. We saw increases on other markets as well, such as Slovenia (by 28%), Romania (24%) and Croatia (29%)," say MOL officials. The turnover increase was based exclusively on the unprecedented rise in pump prices in the first half of the year, when the price of oil per barrel reached as much as 147 dollars, while the sales volume remained the same as in the first half of last year.
