Navigation company Pilot Service, which last week blocked the entry in Constanta harbour for several hours, on Tuesday asked the Bucharest Court to suspend the tender for the selection of companies authorised to perform this activity, until the solving of the penal complaints filed against Transports minister Anca Boagiu and a member of the tender commission, charged with abuse in duty.
The judges are expected to make a decision next week, but a similar request filed in by navigation company Atlas Pilot was approved by another Bucharest Court bench, according to Pilot Service lawyer Marin Popa.
Although Justice ruled in its favour, the Transports Ministry banned the two companies from operating in the harbour, claiming that the Court's decisions were not final and had been challenged with the Bucharest Court of Appeals.
Atlas Pilot representative Alexandru Grigorita deems as abusive the decision made by the Transports minister to keep enforcing the effects of the tender, although it has been suspended by Justice, and penal complaints were filed in against the tender commission and Anca Boagiu herself.
