New chartered financial analysts

01.06.2004, 00:00 9

Global professional structures are gradually making their way onto the Romanian market and, in several years' time, they are expected to change the way people are doing business.

Chartered financial analysts (Chartered Financial Analysts - CFA) are the latest addition to the market. This "trade," which is made up of about 60,000 investment professionals from one hundred countries, was officially joined at the end of last week by another seven Romanians, beside the 21 who already hold the CFA certificate.

"Within several years, we hope to have our say on the Romanian financial market, and not only. For instance, the competence gap in administration between Romania and Bulgaria can also be seen from the fact that the Bulgarian government (which has long outpaced the Romanian Executive in the race for European Union accession) included two CFA ministers, of Transportation and Finances," said Dragos Cabat, chairman of Societatea Romana pentru Investitori Profesionisti (Romanian Association of Professional Investors), which comprises CFA holders.
