The local market of computer graphics cards will grow 30% this year and reach 450,000 units, with 80-85% of the sales being generated by American GPU (graphics processing unit) manufacturer NVIDIA. "According to our estimates, NVIDIA has 80-85% of the market. A major trend on the local market is the rising sums allocated by users for GPUs: the average price of products sold on the Romanian market went up almost 50% in the last year," Cedric Royer (photo), NVIDIA's sales manager for Eastern Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, told ZF. "The visual experience is becoming increasingly important, and users - be they business users or individual consumers - need more and more graphic processing power, and this trend will become increasingly widespread. 3D browsing, for example, which is now at in its infancy, will become a regular feature in a few years' time," says Royer.
