Dorin Mateiu, majority shareholder of Elit Cugir, one of the top five charcuterie producers on the Romanian market, has invested 1.5 million euros in building a four-star hotel in Alba county. "The hotel is located close to the Paul Tomita golf course in Pianu de Jos town, Alba county. It will have 28 rooms, being set for inauguration in December, and will accommodate those coming for the golf course in particular," said Dorin Mateiu. According to the businessman, the construction of the hotel started last autumn, with the total built area standing at 2,200 square metres. The project was built in partnership with architect Ioan Strajan, who is Dorin Mateiu's partner in the real estate company "La Stejari". "The investment entailed only the construction of the hotel, as the land was leased," said Mateiu. The majority shareholder of Elit Cugir also holds a 40% stake in the real estate industry, equal to that of Dorel Tamas, in Mall Alba, while the remaining shares are held by the same Ioan Strajan, according to data from the Trade Registry.
