Beer and Malt Robema company posted 3.5bn ROL (over $100,000) gross profit in the first half of the year, while losses had accounted for 3,1bn ROL in the year-ago period. Turnover increased over 62%, up to 100.3bn ROL. Turnover was influenced by the amount of sold beer and its price, officials say. The company held 2.01% of the domestic beer market and ranked 10th among brewers at the end of H1, 2003. Robema reported profit due to a substantial increase of the domestic beer market. Hot weather boosted beer consumption in the first half in Romania, up 10% from the year-ago period. ZF
