Top Brands Distribution (TBD), one of the top three biggest distribution and logistical companies on the market has recently completed a 350,000-euro investment in opening two offices, one in Constanta and the other in Tulcea, currently reaching 10 branches countrywide. "The two new openings pushed the number of employees up by 34 people, accounting for more than 10% of the total number of TBD employees. The car fleet also increased, by over 300 cars," stated Ramona Danciulescu, PR manager of TBD. The company will concentrate on the territorial expansion of its distribution of Philip Morris Romania and Kraft Foods Romania products this year. "We will continue our regional expansion as much as possible," said Ramona Danciulescu. Company officials estimate a turnover of over 200 million euros for this year. TBD's business expanded almost 30% compared with 2005, to 170 million euros. The company started investment in developing the logistical sector two years ago, with a view to enlarging its portfolio in such services and last year completed a 6 million-euro investment in building the TBD Logistic Center, which supplies for the needs of the Capital City and Ilfov County. The new centre comprises a warehouse for Kraft Foods Romania and one for Philip Morris Romania, in addition to the administrative building in which the company last year relocated. According to company representatives the investment in the logistics projects was 20% self-funded and 80% accumulated from bank credits.
