The date when Transelectrica begins trading on the Bucharest Stock Exchange will be set by the end of next week, probably on the the 22nd or 23rd of August, according to the manager of the Capital Markets Department of Transelectrica, Razvan Purdila. After floatation, the company may be left without two of its branches, which are going to be privatised, according to a Transelectrica representative. "A decision on the date the stock will start being traded will be issued at the end of next week, after the meeting of the committee for Bucharest Stock Exchange listing. Meanwhile, we will get all the necessary documents from the Trade Registry and the National Securities Commission. The committee will formally ascertain that all the conditions for the listing of Transelectrica have been met," specified Purdila. The privatisation of two of the company's six subsidiaries, Formenerg and Icemenerg, could occur next year, according to the Transelectrica manager. Potential investors have so far submitted 12 letters of intent for Icemenerg, while no such letters have been submitted for Formenerg. Transelectrica put up for sale 10% in its share capital through a public offering in June, at a price of 16.8 RON/share and raised about 35 million euros as a result.
