Although it has not even opened its second mall in Romania, Turkish Anchor Group, owner of the Bucharest Mall complex, is already thinking about further developments. "By the time the second mall, Plaza Romania, opens next September, we will have already announced our third location and our plans to expand in the country and maybe abroad" Ali Ergun Ergen, Anchor Group general manager said. "We will have 14 million visitors at Bucharest Mall this year, compared to the 10 million visitors a year we used to register until now. Moreover, we will dedicate the third Bucharest Mall level, a two-million euro investment, this year," Ergen added. This level is the object of a contract closed with Altex chain. It will actually be a 3,000 sqm wide electronics, home appliances, IT products and multimedia store that will make the complex one floor taller. Plaza Romania was initially supposed to open in the spring of next year, but was pushed for the fall upon request from tenants that wanted a new design, the officials say. ZF
