Rock-singer Dan Rosu, living in Alba Iulia, has turned into an inventor with a special product that meets the babies' need to move and walk. His invention is a kind of harness helping babies to walk without hurting themselves.
The harness is manufactured from several ropes, chains, a pipe and some accessories. The baby slips into the "baby-jumping," as the inventor called his product, and then is hung from the ceiling.
"The device can also be hung from anything, such as a tree or a wall and the baby has freedom to move several feet around. The parents may choose a place without obstacles and which can be easily watched," the singer says.
Rosu got the idea at the beginning of this year, when his son Dan Cristian made his first steps. "Everything was topsy-turvy in his way and we didn't know what to do. So we thought about making a harness from an old swing."
When he saw that his son liked his invention, Dan Rosu thought he could develop an entire baby-jumping business, especially that products on the market are not as competitive as this one.
The only such device he found interesting was a kind of swing manufactured in the US, but it squeezed the babies' belly and restricted their freedom. So his business with music records included a new activity - production.
He has produced about 200 baby-jumping devices since January and donated ten of them to Alba Iulia orphanage in order to test them.
The institution's director Dr. Dan Sicoe is happy with them and says the device is very useful for children with neurological disorders.
"The babies are happy to get into the baby-jumping, while the staff is delighted," Sicoe says.
The baby-jumping costs 600,000 lei, as production expenses amount to over 400,000 lei, as the inventor claims. He hopes his business will be successful and intends to donate some of his products to other orphanages.
