One of the greatest love stories ever told in a Disney manner is scheduled to run today, starting with 9.30 p.m. at Laptaria Enache bar (National Theatre of Bucharest, fourth floor). Based on a script written by Ward Greene and Erdman Penner , directed by Clyde Geronimi and Wilfred Jackson, "Lady and the Tramp," though released 45 years ago, is still a source of joy and fun for most of the people. The Disney movie was nominated best animated film by British Academy Awards in 1956.

One night in 1925, Walt Disney carried a puppy home in a hat box to his bride, as a peace offering after he had forgotten a dinner engagement. This simple and rather romantic gesture was to become the basis of one of the most endearing opening scenes in animation and the start of the story for "Lady and the Tramp."

Told from a dog's point of view, this classic cartoon follows a pampered pedigree pooch from a good home through her first two years in life.

A present from Jim Dear to Darling, Lady quickly becomes the centre of attention in the household everything she does is just so cute. But it's not long before this lovely groomed little cocker has to come to terms with the facts of life, and the grimness of life dictated by the wicked Aunt Sarah and her pair of evil Siamese cats. Her only option is to leave the dreaded woman and hit the streets, but Lady was not born on the wrong side of the tracks and soon runs into trouble until she bumps into her saviour, The Tramp. The rest is history, as is the spaghetti...The Tramp and Lady's candlelit dinner at Tony's restaurant is probably the most romantic dog scene ever made.
