The start of the summer season signalled to seaside hotel andclub or restaurant owners the summer of 2011 will be better thanlast year's, as the owners posted revenues put at several millioneuros in the 1st of May weekend.
A tourist who booked a three nights with a four-star hotel inMamaia, and who went to a club and to at least a concert organisedin the resort spent over 200 euros. Nevertheless, the Romanians whochose to spend the 1st of May in resorts such as Vama Veche orCostineşti paid less, with accommodation at a pension costingaround 80 lei (20 euros) per night. Adding food and entertainment,the tourist's expenses may have reached 60 euros during theweekend.
According to ZF estimates, which take into account theabove-mentioned data, the 20,000 tourists present on the seaside onthe 1st of May brought hotel, restaurant and club owners revenuesof between 1.2 and 4m euros.
