Agricover turnover up over 50% to 151m euros

Agricover, a major agricultural group domestically, saw itsturnover rise by 52% last year to 636.6m lei (151m euros), with theadvance being supported by the grain unit that accounts almost 60%in the group's turnover.

"The increase (in grain operations i.e.) came both on theexpanding client portfolio and purchase volume, and on the risingprices for agricultural products," explains Robert Arsene, generalmanager of Agricover.

For this year, Robert Arsene plans to boost both Agricover'sturnover and its profit by around 20%. Arsene says grain turnoverlast year advanced by 63%, while the group's overall incomedoubled.

Agricover collects grain from farmers through 32 reception basesand silos located in nine counties. The total capacity ofwarehouses and silos controlled by Agricover stands at 720,000tonnes.

Agricover group is structured along 11 units, with the one incharge with the distribution of agricultural inputs havingcontributed 34% to total turnover last year.
