Retailers, employers in the IT and the auto sector haveannounced they will make at least 8,000 new hirings this year.Whether they open new subsidiaries or develop a new businesssegment, companies such as Cora, Auchan, H&M, HP, FujikuraAutomotive and ING continue investments, having already announcedseveral thousand new jobs across Romania.
Hewlett Packard (HP), the local subsidiary of the world'sbiggest IT company, remains the IT employer with the most ambitiousrecruitment plan in 2011. HP is looking to hire 600 this year,after in 2011 it recruited a similar number of employees for theGeBOC services centre in Bucharest. Swedish giant Hennes &Mauritz (H&M), one of the world's biggest retailers, will hire300 by the end of the year, who will add to the existing100-employee team.
One of the most active employers this year is the life insurancedivision of Dutch group ING, which opened a regional servicescentre in Cluj in September last year, and is set to hire 400 thisyear, as well.
