Autoworld Cluj sells over 23m euros' worth of Audi and VW cars

14.09.2008, 21:26 15

Cluj-based Autoworld, a regional dealer for the Volkswagen and Audi brands, posted an over 23.6 million-euro turnover in the first seven months of the year, up 46% in euros compared with the same time last year. Considering the advance reported in the first seven months of this year, Autoworld representatives forecast 31.5 million euros in overall sales for 2008, up by around 17% against last year. "Sales will no longer fluctuate as much as they have over the last few years. The local automotive market is entering a new stage of maturity, while consumers are increasingly better informed and know exactly what they want. Additionally, post-sale services are becoming very important, with service-derived revenues continuing to account for an increasingly large part of revenues of auto dealers," Diana Socaciu, marketing manager and PR with Autoworld. According to Autoworld representatives, vehicle sales of the Cluj-based company in the first half of the year were on a downward trend, being influenced by the unfavourable euro exchange rate and by legislative ambiguities related to the first registration tax.
