The domestic subsidiary of Spain's FCC Construccionconstructions group, with turnover of around 110m euros last year,wants to expand its operations, adding railway or airportinfrastructure works, whereas it has so far contracted only roadinfrastructure projects domestically.
"While at present we're operating only in the field of roadinfrastructure, in the following period we are going to diversifyour operations in the field of airports, railways or stadiums,where we can benefit from the expertise of our parent company,"Sebastien Picaut, general manager of the Romanian subsidiary of FCCConstruccion, told ZF.
The company is the builder of Bucharest's Basarab overpass,together with Italy's Astaldi. Over the past 18 months, FCCConstruccion has finalised the rehabilitation of 150 km of nationalroads.
FCC Construcction's strategy for the domestic market entailsparticipation in projects with a minimum value of 25-30m euros, athreshold below which the company's competitiveness is low.
