BDT Group, which holds in its portfolio the Ford, Mazda and Chrysler dealers, as well as a "rent a car" and a leasing division, has put off construction of the second Ford dealership, an around 6 million-euro investment on a 20,000 square-metre area, scheduled for the first part of this year, as a result of the over 60% decline of the car market in the last three months. The company's plan remains unchanged as concerns the construction of the second Mazda dealer, in the southern part of Bucharest, an over 2 million-euro investment on a 10,000 square-metre area. The inauguration of a Saab dealer, the fifth in Romania, which will be located in the centre of Bucharest, is also to go ahead as scheduled. The investment plan in expanding the company has been set at 10 million euros at the beginning of this year, which entails the construction of the three new dealerships. In the first two months of the year, BDT sold 187 vehicles in all, of which 120 Ford units, (around 15% of the brand's sales on the Romanian market), 40 Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge units and 27 Mazda units, apart from the brands of the Chrysler group.
