Bostina: More of a manager than a lawyer

15.02.2008, 20:57 7

As law firms grow, they increasingly resemble corporations, with the managing partner becoming more of a manager and less of a lawyer. "For two years, I have not been working as a lawyer much, I am more of a manager, so I don't have day-to-day contact with the market anymore, considering that we have 17 departments to coordinate. I would say administrative duties take up around 50% of my time, while the remaining time is dedicated to approaching and attracting new clients, and on legal activities," says Doru Bostina, managing partner of Bostina & Asociatii. The firm is one of the largest on the local market, and, at present, boasts over 130 lawyers compared with 104 at the beginning of 2007. Bostina did not specify last year's turnover, but revealed that the estimate made in November, which pointed to revenues worth over 15 million euros, remained valid.
