City Mall has a new manager. In six months it might also have a new owner

City Mall shopping centre, the first Bucharest mall that wentbankrupt, has a new manager who took the reins last week, thefourth in five years, after the legal liquidator, Casa deInsolvenţă Transilvania (Transylvania Insolvency Firm-CITR) teamedup with Coldwell Banker real estate consultancy to rent and managethe project.

Coldwell Banker appointed Alin Dumitraşcu, a former operationscoordinator with Plaza Romania shopping centre of Bucharest, at thehelm of the mall, while Mihai Agaficioaia, who had run City Mallover the past two years and a half, left the company "voluntarily".

"We needed a mall manager, someone who should handle problems,since there were management problems. The mall is under control andthe view is to continue operations. In early February, we will havethe sales strategy approved and we want to find a buyer in six totwelve months," Radu Lotrean, managing partner of CITR, told ZF.
