The young people who once dreamt of being construction engineersnow only want to work in a construction company, even acceptingvoluntary work for a certain period. However, at the opposite endare the employees made redundant from construction firms, whoattend professional retraining courses hoping to find somework.
In 2007-2008, many HR managers had difficulties in recruiting asyoung graduates with no work experience used to ask for minimumsalaries of 1,000 euros only because they were universitygraduates. Graduates became more realistic though last year, whenthey saw that months would pass before they were invited for aninterview and salary offers were way below those of previousyears.
