Arca Schoeller Systems, which manufactures plastic packaging for companies such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Heineken, expects to reach revenues worth 3 million euros this year, four times bigger than in 2006, after it took over all the contracts signed on the market of beer chests. On this segment, the customers of Arca Schoeller Systems are Heineken, Carlsberg, InBev and SABMiller- companies annually producing more than 14 million hectolitres of beer domestically. "Last year, we generated a turnover worth 700,000 euros and this year we estimate we will go beyond 3 million euros. We took over all the beer chest projects that have emerged since the beginning of the year," says Sorin Revencu, a sales manager with Arca Schoeller Systems, who also mentioned that the company's portfolio included 100 customers. He considers that owing to pliable chests shipping costs can be slashed by between 20% and 35%, warehousing costs by up to 70%, and handling costs by 30-40%. Arca Schoeller Systems has 1,500 employees and 20 plants in 50 countries. In Europe, the company is the only producer of creative chests. The company provides up to 1,000 types of chests, which are designed for producers in the auto, agriculture, retail, distribution and the pharmaceuticals industry.
