Ford Romania, the second largest car manufacturer on the Romanian market, says it will invest 12 million euros this year to train its 3,900 employees in Craiova before producing the first Transit Connect model. "For 2009, Ford has budgeted around 12 million euros for training of employees at the Craiova plant. They are paid for by Ford Motor Company," said Nadia Crisan, Ford Romania representative. According to company officials, the around 12 million euros include all training-related expenses for all 3,900 employees this year, but representatives of the carmaker did not provide details on the number of hours allocated for training, the average value of a training course or what the training would include. Considering the 12 million-euro figure provided by Ford, it results that the average training of an employee costs around 3,000 euros on average.
