Fourmont: If Dacia's decline continues, some dealers could go bankrupt

17.11.2008, 19:47 9

If Dacia sales continue on a downward trend into 2009, several Dacia dealers will be forced to make personnel cuts and even shut down operations, Franois Fourmont, general manager of Automobile Dacia, told ZF. "Over 120,000 Romanian jobs depend on Dacia's activity, both supplier jobs and sales network jobs. Unlike Dacia, dealers don't export cars, they sell them in the cities where they are based. A significant sales decline, as a result of second-hand vehicle imports, could lead to personnel cuts, and, if the situation gets worse, some of the dealers could be forced to shut down operations," Franois Fourmont, general manager of Automobile Dacia, told Mediafax news agency. The Dacia network on the Romanian market includes over 70 dealers, with some of them also being Renault dealers.
