Gemini Capital Consult, a leading credit broker, wants to broker loans for Romanians working in Spain and Italy, and also plans to open offices in countries with large Romanian communities.
"(...) An advanced project is our Spanish office, where we will invest between 50,000 and 100,000 euros in the first phase of development. Italy, Ireland or Canada will then come next," says Anca Bidian, Gemini Capital Consult CEO.
The company was taken over by Sweden's Oresa Ventures investment fund in June, in a deal worth 3 million euros.
The company has arranged loans worth 230m euros since 2004. An important growth factor was Gemini's change from acting as an exclusive agent for a single bank (as was the case up until January 2007), to a credit broker for several institutions.
Since early 2007, Gemini Capital Consult has arranged consumer and mortgage loans worth 120 million euros, double the level reached for the whole of 2006.
In the last two months of this year, the company estimates it will handle loans worth 40 million euros, thus taking the entire volume forecast for the current year to 160 million euros.
The number of customers who contracted loans through Gemini Capital Consult has reached 50,000.
The company operates a national network with around 100 financial consultants, with offices in six cities, after it signed partnerships with 10 financial institutions.
