The companies with debts to the state and which are also owedmoney by the state will become part of an offset system, wherebythe two entities will offset their debts, stipulates a new plan onsupport for the economy considered by the Government. At the sametime, the newly established companies that invest 500,000 euros andhire 25 people could get a five-year profit tax holiday.
The plan will be announced next week. This is the third reboot plandevised since Emil Boc took office at the Victoria Palace(Government HQ) - the previous two were devised around the "Rabla"old car scrappage scheme and the "First Home" scheme.
"It has been discussed (by the coalition i.e.); the plan will beannounced when finished, which is most likely next week,"Administration Minister Vasile Blaga said yesterday. Deputy SulfinaBarbu, former Environment Minister, who is in charge of the groupsetting the new measures, says the plan will be discussed with thebusiness sector for a month and could come into force inSeptember.
The business sector, however, is sceptical about the new plan.Cristian Parvan, general secretary of the Association ofBusinesspeople of Romania (AOAR) says the latest steps taken by theGovernment when it amended the Fiscal Code do more harm than goodfor the business sector, while the new reboot plan is nothing butan intention that cannot be taken seriously unless applied.
"It's July 12 (yesterday i.e.). When does one propose these steps, when does one take them, when do they enforce and when do theyproduce effects?" Parvan wonders.
