GSK's boss leaving Romania for France, after nearly two-year stint

Patrick Desbiens, the general manager of GlaxoSmithKline Romania(GSK) is leaving his position with the company after having beenappointed vice-president of primary care operations with GSKFrance.

"This division (primary care i.e.) is almost half of thebusiness in France, which for me, as a leader, is a tremendouschallenge. The experience in Romania was a fantastic opportunity tolearn," Patrick Desbiens said.
According to the information available on the group's website,GSK's annual business in France stands at more than 1.2 billioneuros.
GSK officials said they would announce the new general managersoon.
Desbiens, 43, took the reins of the Romanian division in January2009 and has been running an over 270 million-euro (in 2009)business (GSK's pharmaceutical unit and Europharm Distribu]ie) foralmost two years.
