HTI in talks with Morgan Stanley

05.06.2007, 19:13 5

Brokerage company HTI Valori Mobiliare (HTI Securities), the biggest shareholder on the Sibiu Exchange and one of the biggest shareholders of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, is being wooed by at least one international investment bank, which wishes to enter the local capital market by acquiring the majority stake, according to sources on the capital market. The name rumoured on the market is the American investment bank Morgan Stanley, one of the biggest international investment banks. In fact, HTI brokered the transaction to allow Morgan Stanley to purchase 6% of the shares of real estate developer Imotrust Arad, listed on RASDAQ. The investment bank later reduced its stake. Contacted by ZF on Sunday, Morgan Stanley representatives did not wish to comment. "We will look into this, and we will give you an answer," said a representative in the communication department of Morgan Stanley London. Daniel Tepes, HTI's main shareholder, with over 90% of the shares, could not be contacted on Sunday to comment on this information.
