Uncertainty about the status of RASDAQ market and the fact thatonly a small number of companies have so far decided to transfertheir stock to the Stock Exchange have made investors wary oftrading stock listed on this market, with a negative impact overtraded value. Lately, only a few companies that announced theywould move to the Bucharest Stock Exchange have managed to stirinvestors' interest.
The turnover registered on RASDAQ last month, of 6.5m euros, is thelowest in the past six years, according to BSE statistical data, after stakes whose value at a certain moment topped even 200m euroswere traded during the boom period of 2007.
Bucharest Stock Exchange management says it has already startedprocedures by which RASDAQ firms are informed about thepossibilities they have to get listed on other markets, sinceRASDAQ market status is still unclear.
CNVM (National Securities Commission) is shying away from giving aclear answer to the question whether RASDAQ is a regulated orunregulated market, contemplating the idea of solving this problemby transferring a part of issuers wanting and meeting floatationconditions onto the regulated market and keeping the rest ofcompanies on an alternative trading system, which is an unregulatedmarket.
