Romania has attracted the largest investments in the region fromIT multinationals, becoming a major base for these companies'European operations, but the Romanian market has yet to reach itsfull potential, says Sorin Mindrutescu, CEO of Oracle Romania, local subsidiary of world's largest business software manufacturer."Is it by chance that Romania has been chosen by all the bigmultinational corporations as a major base for their operations inEurope? Oracle has 1,400 employees, HP - 2,200, IBM - a fewthousand, and Microsoft has an important presence," said the headof Oracle Romania. The four American multinationals have almost5,000 employees in Romania, and were drawn to the Romanian marketby the attractive salary level, the IT&C infrastructure andpersonnel qualification. "Why has one not capitalised on thesesuccess stories, which actually exist and are not something thatmay occur, but that have already occurred? We now have thousands ofemployees who bring added value, who have an impact in theeducation system, and have high qualifications," said Mindrutescuat the Oracle Day 2009 conference held yesterday in Bucharest.
