The Romanian Post Office posted a 41.8% turnover rise in the first nine months of the year to 282 million euros (1,026 million RON), in line with the growth forecast for this year, both amid higher volumes and amid higher fees.
Six months into the year, the Post Office reported a 44% increase, but the third quarter also included summer months, which are not the best for players in the field. The company's profit margin is of around 4.3%, double as much as the margin recorded by the company at the end of last year. For 2007, the Romanian Post Office reported a 312 million-euro turnover and a net profit worth 7.6 million euros, according to the Ministry of Finance. The Post Office has lost market share on the courier segment over the last few years, as a result of the development of private businesses, while on the mail segment, it is still the undisputed leader.
