The turnover of dairy producer Prodlacta Brasov went up 26% in the first half of the year and reached 31.14 million RON (8.7 million euros), compared with 24.74 million RON in the first six months of last year, with the company's profit up from almost 200,000 RON to 1.86 million RON (515,000 euros). "Overall revenues went up 31.01% against the first half of last year, while overall expenditures went up 23.48% (...). The profit rise is explained by the increased use of the production capacity and the company making better use of processed milk, in products with the highest yields," reads the company's financial report. Last year, the company posted a 53.2 million-RON turnover, up 16.7%, amid a shift towards fresh dairy products, an increase in UHT milk sales and amid participation in the "Croissant and Milk" programme (a programme via which the Government provides one free croissant and a dairy product for pupils in elementary school).
