PubliMedia International, the publishing company of the MediaPRO Group, yesterday announced it had completed negotiations to buy 60% in S.C. Crucisatorul, which publishes the Gandul daily. Joint plans are to turn it into the number 1 quality newspaper in Romania. PubliMedia will secure the management, while the editorial policy will be the sole responsibility of the newspaper''s director, Cristian Tudor Popescu. The partnership between PubliMedia and S.C. Crucisatorul is intended to consolidate the Gandul product, which has already achieved a solid position on the media market in Romania one year from its launch. PubliMedia International is the main Romanian company on the publishing market in Romania, with a portfolio that comprises of 12 magazines (among which BUSINESS Magazin, Apropo, Maxim, The ONE, ProTV Magazin, ProMotor, Descopera etc.), a national daily (ZIARUL FINANCIAR), seven regional newspapers and numerous yearbooks and catalogues. Cristian Tudor Popescu believes this to be "the best deal Gandul newspaper could have made in the current media environment." ZF
