German Rewe Group will invest 30-35 million euros this year and the next to open six new XXL Mega Discount! stores, two of which located in Bucharest, general manager Rainer Exel said. "Our medium-term plans include two more launches for Bucharest this year and another four in 2004. Each opening entails a 5 to 6 million euro investment," Exel explained. He added Bucharest was top favourite, because it was home to 10% of the active population of the country. "The other cities targeted for expansion are located south and have more than 100,000 inhabitants," he said. ZF
