13.08.2007, 19:41 101

Robert Rekkers, CEO of Banca Transilvania in Cluj-Napoca (TLV), is one of the richest bankers in Romania and holds a 0.6512% stake in the bank's stock, worth approximately 11.6m euros, in line with the bank's 2006 annual report.
The value of Rekkers' stake in Banca Transilvania has increased by 4m euros since the beginning of the year, owing to the capital increase with
free shares operated by the bank and to the positive evolution of the bank's stock. Banca Transilvania stock has brought investors a return of almost 50% since the beginning of the year. Since January 2007, Rekkers has not sold any shares. Instead, he has purchased around 140,000 shares worth 40,000 euros. He acquired a stake of 25,000 shares last Wednesday at a price of 0.945 RON/share, after the bank reported, on Tuesday, a record high net income of 24 million euros for the first half. "As a shareholder in the bank, I am highly satisfied with the evolution of the stock and I intend to buy more shares," Rekkers told ZF. Robert Rekkers, 48, took over TLV management in 2002, after holding the position of ABN Amro Romania chairman. Under his management, Banca Transilvania climbed from a capitalisation of 50m euros to 1.79bn euros. The bank's assets surged from a level of around 260m euros in late 2002 to 3.2 billion euros in June 2007.
