Emil Boc's government was due to be validated yesterday by the Parliament, during a joint session of the two chambers of Parliament. The appointed premier, Emil Boc, yesterday presented the governing programme, stating public administration expenditures would be cut by 20%. "Farewell to luxury public workers with wages of 30-40,000 euros per month," said Boc during the speech in which he asked for Parliament's vote of confidence. Prime minister Boc maintained the alliance between the left and the right wings, namely between PSD (Social-Democrat Party) and PD-L (Democrat-Liberal Party), is forced to set the "centre", as one cannot speak of a "left-wing or right-wing people". Boc maintains his government will try to strike a balance between the virtues of free economy and the state's role in economy. According to the premier's statements, the new government will be an extremely parsimonious one, as the state's revenues have been dwindling by 10% per month amid the economic crisis. Besides the governing programme for the next four years, Boc also presented the list of his ministers. All the 19 ministers, together with vice-premier Dan Nica, late last week received the endorsement of the specialised committees of the two chambers of Parliament for their respective portfolios. After government validation, the ministers were due to go to Cotroceni to individually take the oath of office before president Traian Basescu.
