Apparel manufacturer J&R Enterprises controlled bybusinessman Joseph Seroussi last year reached 21.5 million euros inexports, 10% more than in 2009, a year when the company was thebiggest exporter in the textile industry, according to a rankingput together by the National Association of Romanian exporters andImporters (ANEIR).
"In 2010, the volume of exports rose by about 10% compared with2009 and the orders for the spring-summer 2011 point to an about 9%increase compared with the same time of last year," says ElenaMateescu, general manager of J&R Enterprises.
Despite the financial crisis, the company managed to gain newclients such as Lab4Style (Germany), Berwin Ruhagyar Zrt.(Hungary), Acne Studios (Sweden), and Confecciones Senior (Spain),but also retained its traditional partners in Germany, Sweden andFrance. "We started working with some of our partners right afterwe opened the factories, 15 or 18 years ago," Elena Mateescuexplains.
