SIF Muntenia (Financial Investment Company Muntenia) saw the highest increase in assets out of the five financial investment companies on the market, with its net assets going up by 11.27%, to 1,655 million RON (509 million euros). The total amount of net assets held by the SIFs at the end of May stood at over 9.1 billion RON (2.8 billion euros), a 3.2% increase on the previous month. Since the beginning of the year, the assets of investment companies climbed by an average of 22.5%, amid significant increases from the shares of companies on the RASDAQ, which the SIFs include within their portfolios. In fact, SIF Muntenia shares also witnessed the biggest rise on the Stock Exchange in May, when they increased by 19%. In the same period, the BET-FI index rose by 9.3%. The value of short-term financial investments of SIF Muntenia, which are almost entirely made in listed shares, increased almost 15% last month, i.e. an about 50 million-euro rise. Around 40% of this value is derived exclusively from the increase registered by the shares of Prospectiuni Bucuresti on the Stock Exchange last month, of 19.4 million euros.
