Dutch retail company Spar has announced that it has long-term goals of opening 200 stores in Romania. For the time being, the Dutch-owned Spar will open its second store on the local market in Resita, after opening their fist in Arad, in August. The investment in Resita amounts to 2.1 million euros. Rino Tizzanini, general manager of Spar Romania, said the investment in a location stands at an average of 1.5 million euros. The Resita-based store will have a total surface area of 1,008 square metres, with the sales area taking up 780 square metres. Spar will sell around 5,540 items, 35% of which will be fresh produce. The Resita-based store will work with 420 suppliers and will employ 48 staff, said George Ceorneschi, marketing manager at Spar Romania on Wednesday. "In the new supermarket, which has entailed investment worth 2.1 million euros, the inhabitants of Resita will find Spar's four international values: freshness, an excellent quality/price ratio, a great variety of products and an ample range of services," he added.
