Three SIFs inject 1.5m euro into Banc Post

30.11.2004, 00:00 5

Three of the five financial investment companies (SIFs) have announced their participation in Banc Post's share capital increase as allowed by their pre-emption right as shareholders of the bank. SIF Moldova, SIF Oltenia and SIF Transilvania each paid 19.5bn ROL (0.5 million euro) for 4.7 million new shares each. The other two SIFs, SIF Banat-Crisana and SIF Muntenia, may follow their lead. Stakes held in banks have been among the most profitable investments for SIFs, as a large part of their revenues over the years have been derived from dividends paid out by banks. Banc Post's new shares were offered to shareholders at 4,105 ROL/share, four times the par value. Banc Post is not listed on the capital market, yet the shares of the listed banks are valued by the market at 8 to 11 times more than their par values. ZF
